If I can just make it through this week and do everything I’m suppose to do than I’ll be fine!
Well, at least that’s what I keep saying to myself during this chaotic month of meetings, orientations, papers and deadlines. Readers, please assure me I’m not the only one who thinks that when busy! While this post may seem like it’s my total meltdown expressed on the internet, I do have a reason for sharing this with you and I would love to hear your thoughts.
I recently was working on a paper about creation myths. I researched the Taoist myth to compare to the Israelite myth because I thought they would be completely different. Surprisingly, they were very similar. [On a side note–to clear things up–a myth is not a falsity. A myth often stems from truth but is usually embellished. Think back to the concept of Homer’s Troy. It was once thought as a fictional city but was discovered in Turkey!]
Anyway, there was an interesting idea found in both creation texts: in chaos, there is potential for something beautiful.
Chaos is not destruction but can give life to new things! You just need to work with it and not against it. The world formed out of a chaotic mess even if you believe in Taoism, Judaism, Christianity, the Big Bang Theory or all of them! If that can happen, then I’m sure we can take a page out of that beginning to embrace our hectic lives!
Here’s to hoping that this chaotic month will end in something beautiful ❤
Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come. You wait and watch and work: you don’t give up. ~Anne Lamott
